School of Breaking Day - Hip-Hop Fest

In honor of a proclamation School of Breaking received from Mayor Mike Coffman and the City Council of Aurora, we are celebrating School of Breaking Day and over 13 years of Hip-Hop arts education and service in Colorado.

We are hosting our 3rd Annual Hip-Hop Fest and big show at The People's Building in the Aurora Arts District. Guests will get to experience amazing youth and adult breaking battles, hear a live DJ, watch community dance performances, all with a special guest MC and local vendors.

- Guests are encouraged to actively participate in the show via cheering or applause.

- Designated time and space during the show for guests to dance and cypher.

GUEST WARNINGS:

Lowlights and live music. Guests are able to move around freely throughout the show, into the gallery/lobby if a sensory break is needed.

School of Breaking

was founded in Aurora, CO in 2012. Rooted in authenticity, our mission is to nurture and safeguard the rich legacy of Hip-Hop. We draw inspiration from its deep-seated connections to Black and Latino heritage, and foster a vibrant community that thrives on these cultural ties. Our objective is to positively influence our community through rhythm, movement, art and knowledge, by providing students with comprehensive skills to delve into various aspects of Hip-Hop culture that include Breaking, DJing, MCing, and Graffiti.
